This product is…different.I ordered it because I live in Upstate NY and my nose is always freezing. We are also a house that suffers with allergies, so I thought this might help break up some of that congestion (with colds as well).⭐️ARRIVAL & UNBOXING⭐️The warmer arrived quick.A colorful and branded small box was sealed shut upon arrival. Inside, the warmer was sealed inside a resealable plastic bag. There was a short USB-C charging cord and a brief instruction/information sheet in the box as well. There were no unfortunate or unpleasant odors upon arrival (thank god) and the unit was clean and new. It even arrived with about 39 minutes worth of charge (on the hottest setting).⭐️THE UNIT⭐️Measuring 9.5” long and 2.75” wide, the mask is cut to fit and cover the contour of the face. Each side has soft, durable, stretchy elastic bands (they feel like the good, soft and stretchy hair elastics that don't get tangled in your hair, so they are comfy behind the ears), each one has an adjustable toggle so you can get the perfect fit so the mask stays on and stays put, comfortably. It does take a minute or two to get the elastics adjusted for you- the process is very easy, just a lot of trial and error/adjusting at first. The unit is lightweight (weighing just 2.1oz), so it doesn't feel heavy/uncomfortable to wear and it stays on quite well. There is one button, right on the front of the mask (off to the side) that powers it on/off and cycles through the heat levels. It's also where you plug the charger into the mask. When the mask is powered on, it immediately starts to get warm (no waiting). You will also notice the inside of the mask (that faces your skin) is illuminated with two rows of 8 red lights- they glow right through the material. The red lights are NOT on the outsideof the mask, like the product photos show! While they don't look exactly like that on the inside of the mask (they're aren't nearly as many), that photo is just there to give us an idea of what to expect!*I deep dive into the red lights and RLT below. While there are red lights on the inside of this mask, they are not of any therapeutic value here.⭐️BATTERY⭐️From dead to fully charged (the power button flashes as the unit charges) the battery takes about 2 to 2.15 hours to charge. I haven't timed each heat level, but I can tell you that on the highest (hottest) level, I've had over an hour worth of heat, and at that point I turned the unit off- it didn't die. I can only imagine that time is longer with the lower heat levels. So the charge is pretty powerful and the unit holds it for a while too (standby time is great.) The unit doesn't work when it is plugged in/charging.⭐️MATERIALS & QUALITY⭐️The materials are nice. A basic, soft material that feels nice against the skin is on the inside. It's almost a thin velvet, so it retains heat and is quite gentle. It can be a bit of a pain to clean though and it's the type of material that skin likes to come off on. The outer layer feels like the soft material that velcro sticks to. It's still soft, but it's durable (so it can stand up to the elements) and it keeps the heat locked in.The entire mask has a nylon like border that is sewn on very secure, keeping the layers together.Inside, we have the two rows of lights (that cover 4.75” x 1” on the inside of the mask) as well as some sort of heating element. Like the area where the light is, the heat covers the same area in the mask (in the middle, but not so much on 1.5” on both ends). While you can feel a small, hard rectangle on one side of the mask, the power button on the opposite end and some wires when you touch the mask with your hands, you DO NOT feel any of those things when it is on your face.Overall, the quality is decent and this seems well made. Not the best thing I've ever seen/used, but far from the worst.⭐️EN USE⭐️Once you get the elastic bands adjusted right, you simply slide this over your nose, loop the bands behind your ears and just hang out!The lowest level is advertised to reach 113°F. Medium is advertised as 122°F and High is 131°F.This gets hot, without a doubt, and feels great, but that 131°F is a bit of an exaggeration (I don't think something that hot on your face would be good for your skin either!). I got out the fancy infrared thermometer and found that after 10 minutes on the face (in a 70° room), the mask was between 107.5°F and 109° F. Honestly, that temp is perfect- not too hot, it doesn't damage your skin, it keeps you warm, helps with congestion and it's quite comfortable to wear for a period of time.*I wore it for the 10 minutes, took it off and read the temp on the inside of the mask. I'm sure the actual temp of the mask on the skin would be a few ° warmer, when the heat is actually trapped. The medium level read 101° F after 10 minutes and the low level was at 93°F. While I waited 10 minutes to take all the readings (again, taking the mask off to get the temp) the mask actually warms up to those temps in under 3 min...
